And celebrated the publication of a book or two!
Thank you to those of you that travelled far and wide to visit Number Seven last week to meet Jackie Morris and Ivy. The day was quite relaxed with a steady, constant stream of visitors delighted to go home with signed copies of Jackie's books.
The Quiet Music was met with much enthusiasm as it is an alluring and beautifully produced picture book for grown-ups. Copies of One Cheetah, One Cherry and The Newborn child were also well received and customers were delighted to be able to purchase pre-publication copies of The White Fox and the new edition of Tell Me a Dragon with Extra Dragons. So a big thank you to Barrington Stoke and Frances Lincoln for the advance copies - a limited number of which are still available, signed of course! Call the shop to make enquiries 01398 324457
Throughout the day Ivy slept contentedly under the table, hidden by the table cloth while above her sleepy head Jackie brought her life in watercolour.
Jackie has taken the painting back home with her to St David's to gild and embellish before it returns to Number Seven where it will be for sale once it has been framed.
Our evening reward was a walk along the River Barle, a refreshing paddle followed by a huge fish and chip supper - although I think it is the paddle with Jackie, Ivy and puppy π I shall always remember!
The following morning, before heading off on her travels, Jackie returned to Number Seven and kindly signed a teetering pile of books for Number Seven leaving us with a wide range of her titles available for you to purchase - along with a promise to return next year for The Lost Words, which we are so looking forward to.
