It has been a glorious summer and it seems a little sad to already be thinking of autumn but our plans too are quite glorious and we hope that you are able to be part of them.
On Wednesday 14th September Jackie Morris will be visiting Number Seven to celebrate the launch of her latest publications which include the colourful and playful counting book ‘One Cheetah, One Cherry’ and the lavish celebration of her paintings produced for the charity Help Musicians UK in the ‘The Quiet Music of Gently Falling Snow.’
The day promises to be quite relaxed and informal. Jackie will be painting and reading from her recent publications and no doubt sharing a glimpse of her future and current projects.
Jackie is doing fewer events this year, “I have old animals and want to stay home and spend last days with them, and also I find that all the travelling fragments my work so much. I want to stay home and paint and sculpt and walk. So, when I am out and about do come and see me.”
“I tried, but I couldn’t stay away because I love Dulverton and Number Seven too much.”
If you are unable to join us on the day but would still like to order signed and dedicated copies of any of Jackie's titles do contact the shop to make arrangements, we can also organise postage for you.
Our Walking Book Club resumes after its regular summer break and we shall be meeting to discuss The Wolf Border by Sarah Hall on Saturday 10th September.
It is also time to select October's title so do have a look at the selection currently on our website and place your vote by the 31st August.
Book club titles can be ordered direct from Number Seven at the special club rate of £6.00 - simply call 013988 324457 or pop into the shop.
We hope you are enjoying the last weeks of summer and looking forward to seeing you soon - September is one of our favourite months!
